Can’t Get Enough Parades & Fireworks?


Who doesn’t love parades and fireworks? Less than 5 minutes away you can visit the 2014 Emlenton Summer Festival. Donaldson Motors on River Ave. will be holding a Model Car and Truck Display. There are close to 200 models! The Summer Festival train display will also be running. The display will be open from noon to 5:00pm.

The Parade starts at 6:00pm with fireworks beginning at dusk. Something the entire family will enjoy!


Saturday, July 12th Activities

8:00am – Softball Tournament on top of the hill – Come watch the annual Softball Tournament. It is a single-pitch, double elimination tournament. In event of rain, the tournament will be held on Sunday, July 13th.

8:00am – Adult 5K Walk/Run – Rain or Shine. Registration and Starting Line are located at Hughes Park on top of the hill by the ball fields. The out-and-back rolling course will be run on paved and gravel roads. It’s a newly designed course! Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each category. Race Day registration is $25.00. 9:00am – Raft Race – Emlenton to Parker. Watch to see whose homemade raft will make the float from Emlenton to Parker.

10:00am – Kids Mini Marathon – This is a free activity open for kids ages 7 to 12. The race will take place at Hughes Park. Children ages 7 to 9 will compete in a ¼ mile run and ages 10 to 12 will run a ½ mile race. Each participant will receive a finisher’s medal.

10:00am – Kids Bike Race – This event will take place on Main Street in front of the bank. To participate you MUST wear a helmet. There will be NO exceptions. Registration begins at 9:30am for children ages 6 to 9. Registration begins at 2:00pm for a race time of 2:30pm for children ages 10 to 12. Kids participating in the race are invited to ride in the parade!

10:00am – 4:00pm – Pony Rides- Pony rides will take place behind the Emlenton Mill. For more information about the Emlenton Mill, click here.

10:00am – 6:00pm – River Golf – This event will take place at the Riverfront Apartments until 6:00pm or until golf balls run out. See if you can make a hole in one on the Allegheny!

10:30am – Kids Scavenger Hunt – This event will take place at Hughes Park. It is open to all children 12 years of age and younger.

Noon – Frog jumping Contest – Must be under the age of 14 to enter. Bring your own frog to the Emlenton Crawford Center Gym. If your frog doesn’t jump, you will be given a second chance after all contestants have been given their turn. The age groups will be 7 and under and 8 to 14. Prizes will be given for 1-3 longest jumps, most unique, smallest, and largest frogs.

Noon – 3:00pm – Make-Your-Own Tie-Dyed T-Shirt- Amazing Stitches will be holding sign ups Monday – Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm. You will select your T-shirt size at registration. One T-Shirt per child. Cost will be $3.00 for children 12 and under and all others $5.00. Click here for more information about Amazing Stitches.

1:00pm – 8:00pm – Kiddieland – Visit the Emlenton Crawford Center Parking Lot for a children’s area full of games and activities. This is free to all kids!

1:30pm – Ice Cream Eating Contest – visit the Emlenton Mill Creamery for an Ice Cream Eating Contest. For more information about the Emlenton Mill, click here.

4:00pm – Rubber Duckie Race – This event will take place at Mineral Springs Park. Race will start at the walking bridge. Each duck costs $5.00.

6:00pm – Summer Festival Parade on Main Street
