ARCA Presents! Piano Extravaganza: Alvin Zhu
Alvin Zhu, the first American to be inducted to the Steinway Young Artists Roster, brings his award-winning expressive talents to Foxburg’s Lincoln Hall on Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 PM. He is certainly a performer whose career will be worth following. This multi-talented musician hails from a lineage that includes a grandfather who served as a judge for the Van Cliburn, Queen Elizabeth and Chopin International Piano Competitions. His list of mentors is truly a Who’s Who of the piano world: Lang Lang, Emmanuel Ax, Leon Fleisher and other luminaries. As if performing were not enough, Alvin is equally comfortable as a crossover artist, receiving Honorable Mention in the 16th Billboard World Song Contest, being named Runner-up at the 2008 Song of the Year Competition and has won First Place in the Solo Competition at the Intersection between Jazz and Classical Music Festival.
