Every year on March 17, the Irish and the Irish-at-heart across the globe observe St. Patrick’s Day. What began as a religious feast day for the patron Saint of Ireland has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, cultural foods and a whole lot of green. Here in Foxburg we will be kicking off our St. Patrick’s Day weekend with a special musical performance. The Celtic instrumental and vocal group Carnival of Souls, returns to Lincoln Hall by popular demand after last year’s spirited St. Patrick’s Day performance. On stage at Lincoln Hall this year will be Brian and Kelly Lowry, Roy Abbott, Daryl Hartman, Jonathan Shegog, Caitlin Lowry, Benjamin Lowry and Joshua Lowry.
This inter-generational Celtic band composed of eight musicians, uses a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional instruments to produce a rich range of music that will keep your toes tapping all night long! Carnival of Souls has 20 years of music production in their history. You can check out their music on their website. They currently have two CD’s out. SconeHenge and No Scone Unburned.
The show starts at 7pm in Lincoln Hall, however you may want to come to Foxburg early to feast on some traditional Irish fare. How does a Reuben pizza or salad sound? Or just stick with the traditional Reuben sandwich, it’s your choice at Foxburg Pizza. After filling your belly there, you can head on over to The Foxburg Wine Cellars to taste their new Wineshine and what is St. Patty’s Day without green beer from The Allegheny Grille? Join us in Foxburg for a treat that you surely won’t regret. Listen to the melodies of Carnival of Souls, Friday March 14. Tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for students. To reserve tickets please call 724-659-3153 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also purchase tickets at the door.
