There is a lot going on in April, all over the world, and right here in Foxburg. Today, April 2 is Autism Awareness Day. This is a special day for me personally because there is a very special young lady in my life that is dealing, and sometimes struggling with Asperger’s Syndrome. Asperger’s Syndrome is a high-functioning form of autism. This means that she is of normal to high intelligence and has good communication skills but is afflicted with the social and emotional deficiencies that go along with autism.
April 8 is the Easter Holiday and for those of the Christian Faith this means celebrating the resurrection of Christ. Also children of the world will be waiting for their once a year visit from…that’s right The Easter Bunny. They will color and hunt eggs, and wake up Easter morning to find baskets filled with treats. Divani Chocolate, in Foxburg will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for children 10 years old and younger Saturday April 7, in the garden behind the shop, starting at 11am.
April 28, 2012 is the Foxburg Maple Syrup Festival. This is going to be a treat for all ages. We will start off the day with a Pancake Breakfast, 8am-12noon, proceeds benefit The Foxburg Library. April 3 is Don’t Go To Work Unless It’s Fun Day. Interesting? I wonder if this is a valid holiday to call off work for? Will I be at work tomorrow? I guess that depends on if I feel my job is fun..we will find out tomorrow.
