Despite the weather; Dog Sled Event was successful
A bright, sunny day with blue skies and unseasonably warm (highs in the lower 50s) in the beginning of February is a dream come true for most of us in northwestern Pennsylvania. But for the past few weeks most of us in Foxburg, Pennsylvania have been hoping for snow, and lots of it, at least up until February 4, 2012. As we know, it did turn out to be a beautiful day in Foxburg AND we still put on our Dog Sled Event. There were some small changes, such as the dogs didn’t race, and there were no sleds. The dogs did get to run, and they pulled Karts equipped with three wheels, making the snow not-so – necessary after all. Many people of all ages came out to join in the fun and as an added bonus they also had the opportunity to visit the exquisite businesses located along the Allegheny River in the beautiful Foxburg Business District. A heartfelt thank-you to all of you who came out and supported the mushers, the Foxburg businesses and the stars of the day, the sled dogs.
