A busy summer weekend in Foxburg

Saturday is a big day in Foxburg.

There will be three weddings, a golf fundraiser, a segway tour, several receptions and a performance at Lincoln Hall.  The river and bike trail will probably be packed also. There were canoes and the river and there are several cars in the parking lot loaded with bikes.

The pizza shop opened Monday and they’ve been packed all week. Maybe they should have named it differently because their breakfast and lunch trades have been well received. We’re working on some kind of partnering with them for breakfast and room service.

Dr. Steffee converted the first barn of his barn complex to an event center. Tomorrow a young couple will get married at six o’clock at the Episcopal Church and then they will be taken by horse and carriage to the barn for a very nice reception. Another carriage will bring a bride from Lincoln Hall to the Allegheny Grille for a wedding at 4 o’clock.

This doesn’t count all the motorcycle folks who will be coming to the winery. They’re regulars on sunny summer weekends.

It’s going to be busy and lively, and so much fun!

We live near Foxburg and LOVE the new Country Shop and the Pizza shop connected to it. Recently, four family members stayed in the Inn (two were ‘returning’ guests) and absolutely love it. In the not too distant future we plan on doing so also, as a special treat to ourselves!

We did quite a bit of Christmas shopping in the Country Shop just before as well as during the recent ‘Foxburg Weekend’. The items in the shop are fantastic [hope they put even more different selections in there!] and make great unique items!

We have eaten a few times in the Pizza Shop and (R & M) have eaten breakfast there as well. The food is delicious, the prices are realistic [not overblown], and the service is TOPS! Being on the river makes it extra special; you can relax and have your meals on the patio area outside.

Having the Inn, the Winery, the Library, a ‘PA artists’ shop, and being able to take a tour through the ‘Caboose’ located at the end of the parking area … as well as visiting the Diavani’s Chocolates + Shop nearby … makes it a GREAT place for locals and tourists to visit often!!

    We highly recommend you visit!
